Receiver Cameron Posey said he's ahead and expects to be ready for training camp in August, despite that being only six months removed from sur- gery to repair a torn right ACL. Receiver B.J. Knauf is find- ing the balance of not rushing back too quickly from surgery to repair a torn adductor (thigh/ groin area) — he's full-go in the weight room but not quite ready to participate in 7-on-7 yet — and doesn't doubt he'll be back by camp. Dolapo Macarthy, who could be playing just as much slot receiver as tight end after his recent move, has a goal of having no restrictions by Au- gust after dislocating his shoul- der and tearing a muscle during spring ball. After leav- ing campus for a short break af- ter finals, all of them were back for the start of Maymester to again work with Purdue's athletic training staff. To most of them, that meant a shift in ap- proach. "We're going to up the tempo a little bit just so we can try and get myself fully ready for August and for camp," said Posey, who had surgery in February after injuring the knee during a one-on- one drill against a defensive back. "I would hope in the next month, I'll be out there running routes and working with the quarterbacks and stuff. I wouldn't expect to be doing one-on-ones yet, but I hope to at least be doing routes on air with quarterbacks and get back into rhythm with them." Knauf is eager to hit the weight room to continue to build strength, though he also needs to get his conditioning back.
