Klute, Total Science, Jubei, DLR and Foreign Concept doing sets and next month we have Doc Scott and Technimatic. It's on the first Wednesday of the month, it's RSVP free guest list entry via our email s o u l i n m o t i o n l d n @ gmail.com. IN TERMS OF DRUM AND BASS RECENTLY RELEASED, WHO AND WHAT ARE YOU GRAVITATING TOWARDS AT THE MOMENT. S.P.Y and Break are still big favourites of mine but there are also loads of new names coming up that have great music. I tend to play more from these aspiring producers as they're the ones who take more chances with their sound instead of making what they think fits in with everyone else. IT'S WELL KNOWN THAT YOU'RE A SERATO ICON. HOW DID THIS COME ABOUT? After meeting with a member of the New Zealand based Serato team on a trip to London where I live, they came to understand how much music in general means to me and put my name forward for the Icon Series. Serato Icon is a diverse, hand-picked collection of artists who represent and epitomise the Serato ethos.. Other Icons include Erykah Badu, Chuck D, Just Blaze, DJ Premier, Fatboy Slim, Jazzy Jeff and more. HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE ALONGSIDE OTHER HUGE ARTISTS? It feels great know that such an important company in the world of deejaying have picked me out among thousands of DJs as someone they see with special qualities. Accolades don't come much bigger than that. WHERE WAS THE GREATEST SHOW YOU'VE PLAYED IN THE LAST YEAR? The Sunandbass Festival wins for me every single year. Rather than being a place to go mental with thousands of other people, it's more of a personal experience of like-minded people who go to get fully immersed in music that drives the soul without a chaotic rave atmosphere. I SEE YOU HAVE RESTARTED YOUR 'STRAIGHT FROM THE BEDROOM' LIVE STREAM SHOWS. HOW IS THAT GOING? You know what.., people who I wouldn't have expected to mention it have done so since I stopped doing it a couple of years ago so I felt it had an important role and brought it back. The response has been great. It's built into its own community of people in the chat room during broadcast who like to discuss their tastes in music and other things. CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT ANY OTHER PROJECTS THAT YOU'VE GOT IN THE PIPELINE? I've got plans ahead for a new record label. At this very moment I'm in the middle of working with and American X Factor vocalist to kick start it all. I've also got big plans ahead for a new venture with Fabric nightclub in London. WHAT'S YOUR MUST HAVE GADGET FOR THE MOMENT? I love the Serato iPad app. It adds so much fun to deejaying alongside the Serato DJ Pitch 'N' Time plugin that allows me to speed up older and slower Jungle / D&B tracks on the fly with zero distortion during a set without the 'mickey mouse' effect. That thing is amazing! WHAT WAS THE LAST THING THAT INSPIRED YOU? Welsh people. My partner is Welsh so I go there often now. Witnessing their kindness, family values and sense of community is something that leaves me wishing more people were like that.
