34 Issue 63 / 2014 INDIE/ ROCK guestlist.net Arcade Fire's fourth album 'Reflektor', hailed as a dark disco classic, has hit #1 in the album charts across a whole number of countries including the UK. Following their current sold out tour as 'The Reflektors', the band will return to the legendary London venue for a special show that will serve as a highlight of the year for fans and no doubt the indie-rock collective themselves. NEW RELEASES EVENT REVIEW SAINT RAYMOND Mc Briare Samuel Lanyon DeMarco aka Mac Demarco is the new jewel of the indie rock scene. He is a young Ca- nadian instrumentalist, writer, producer, singer and multi- media artist. With his melancholic voice, he has enchanted many. He has released 3 albums ('Rock and Roll', '2' and 'Salad Days' in 2014) on the 'Captured Tracks' label. He has also recently released 'Pepperoni Playboy: A Macumen- tary' - a 30 minute documentary. He is an artist we all need to keep an eye out for. With his brilliant start, we're sure he has a bright future! Wednesday May 14th marked an important date for Callum Burrow aka Saint Raymond as he played his largest venue to date – Sca- la London. His music video for 'Everything She Wants' also came out on the 14th, making this a significant day for him and his fans. As for the performance, I can assuredly say that it was a great show. After seeing him in October and now in May, his musical progression and live pres- ence have evolved enor- mously. After his expansive last few months, the major- ity of punters in the venue were well acquainted with the lyrics and the vibe was just right for a sing and dance, even the boys who tagged along with their girlfriends were busting some moves. During the winter he opened for American band Haim and following his cur- rent UK tour, he'll be open- ing for Ed Sheeran in the Autumn. Saint Raymond is definitely one to keep on the radar in the next few months. GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS MAC DEMARCO More @ guestlist.net/indie A great and atmospheric performance from this young rising star. He is the indie rock artist of the moment with his 3 auto produced albums. This new 20 something genius impresses with his simplicity and joy of living.
