The television "dragon" (from CBC's Dragon's Den) and fi nan- cial guru was the keynote speaker at the APC 2014 conference in Toronto in April. "Society is still really sexist," he said. "Society judges women based on what they wear so much more than men. People ask about (Dragon's Den co-star) Arlene (Dickin- son) wearing the same outfi t every day. Robert Herjavec always had the same bright jacket on and the same bright pouf (but people don't ask about that)." Chilton explained that each year, the whole season's episodes are taped over the course of 20 to 23 days. Then, the seg- ments are mixed up into shows for the entire year, each one featuring three or four segments. That means the dragons have to wear the same clothes for all of the tapings, or look as though they'd changed clothes after each pitch. When people ask Chilton why Arlene "never changes her clothes," he said he sometimes deadpans, "I don't know. Some- times she smells."
