EDITOR'S NOTE CONTENTS Tourists are easy to spot in East Idaho, but not so much by how they look. Conversely, it's how they look at East Idaho that defines them. They stop on the shoulders of our byways just to marvel at the mountains. They stroll, stop and stroll some more as they inch their way around our greenbelts and through our parks. They take pictures of EVERYTHING, it seems -- flowers, potato fields, rustic small-town squares and all kinds of everyday sights. But hey, why let the tourists have all the fun? We're betting that as you flip through this guide, you'll find at least a handful of adventures and activities that never even occurred to you, even after decades of calling East Idaho your home. So here's a challenge for you: From now through next spring, get reacquainted with East Idaho. Spend some time at it. Round up the whole brood and go for a drive. Ride a bike. Float a river. Take in a concert. Hike a mountain. Shoot some pictures while you're at it, and send them our way. The results should be fascinating, don't you think? Who knows, you might even pass for a tourist. 2014 East Idaho Family Fun Guide 6 Itinerary News and notes from the heart of East Idaho 15 50+ Events You Just Can't Miss Our regional calendar through Spring 2015 26 Wild Wander Summer camp kids on a treasure hunt 28 Family-Friendly Fairways Short courses and junior programs 31 Summer Fun on the Mountain Highlands peak-season adventures 34 Make a Splash!
