fields were carpeted. Fore Kicks was one of the first
facilities to offer synthetic grass, and players could
wear cleats rather than flat shoes.
In addition to high-quality turf fields, Fore Kicks
introduced high-quality courts for futsal, like the ones
used in the European championships. The courts are
great for volleyball and basketball as well.
"We wanted year-round revenue streams," says Tom.
Outdoor fields allow for this. They also allow for clubs
to train year-round, as well as for tournaments.
Rather than dealing with muddy fields
in the spring, players experience safer
play and longer seasons. They can begin
playing in March instead of late April
Going from indoor soccer to the
outdoor game becomes a seamless
transition."Lacrosse is hard on grass
fields in spring, but on turf it's fine."
During the summer months, customers
can enjoy the warm weather outdoors.
"In Norfolk we have the par 3 lighted golf
course that allows us to go from indoor
soccer in the winter to golf camps in the
summer. In Marlboro and Taunton we put in
outdoor lighted turf fields."

Year-round play also allows Fore Kicks to maintain a
strong and stable team of managers and staff.
"It's one thing to build facilities; it's another to
build them with the programming and staff to give
the customer a good experience. We've been very
fortunate in the people we've been able to attract to
our business. If it weren't for my team of managers,
I wouldn't be able to run three facilities." patricia
teager, Tom's wife, is VP of Operations. "It would be
way too much for the two of us without having our
current managers and sales people that keep the
place running."
"We try to treat our staff fairly," says Tom. "I pay
above the average–at least from what we can tell from
the surveys we see."
