state. Energy FC garnered investor support in part
because of an earlier relationship with SoccerCity.
SoccerCity OKC serves as a partner and, in some
ways, a marketing arm for Energy FC. The two
organizations cross promote, and Energy FC players
have access to SoccerCity for practices, clinics, and
special events. SoccerCity's lil' Kickers participate
in half-time events at home games. Energy FC has
plans to grow into an MLS program in one of the two
markets in Oklahoma.
The owners of SoccerCity are committed to supporting
soccer in Oklahoma. They support several of the
larger clubs; they house the western office for the
Oklahoma Soccer Association (OSA), and both GMs
work with their local Sports Commission by serving on
committees. Both GMs coach top talent, who go on to
compete nationally and, in many cases, support these
kids in obtaining college scholarships. SoccerCity
annually sponsors the state OSA conference, and the
two facilities support various team activities of the
local colleges and universities.
Such strong ties make these indoor sports
facilities attractive to potential sponsors. Sponsors
understand that these facilities are not major
coliseums–that they do not have TV rights or
host major national championships. Sponsors do
understand, however, that their marketing partnership
not only supports the local clientele all the way down
to Lil Kickers classes, but in some small way they
also support the college, semi-professional and
maybe even professional level affiliate. Sponsors
may be just as pleased to associate their brand with
smaller indoor facilities that are high-quality as they
are with larger organizations.
Chris Moler, Sponsorship Director for USIndoor, is
proud that Plex Indoor Sports, his very first client
with his company STAAR Solutions over 11 years ago,
is still his client today. Mr. Moler is equally proud to
represent SoccerCity and other facilities.
