ILLUSTRATED VOLUME 24, ISSUE 6 93 f pass. He finished the season with 1,602 yards, eight touch- downs and eight interceptions. A strong spring had Terrell entering camp as the top QB. But he could be challenged by a highly touted freshman. "I fully expect 6-foot-6, 210-pound Chance Stewart to come in this summer and immediately begin competing for the starting job," Drew said. "There is little argument that Stewart has been pegged as the signal-caller of the future at WMU. After all, the kid was a four-star recruit committed to Wisconsin before Bret Bielema left for Arkansas. Stewart's high school numbers don't pop out at you because, having watched his team in person several times throughout the years, he didn't have playmakers around him." More production in the offense could be aided by some key returnees up front — 50 of last year's 60 starts on the O-line are back — and another big season from receiver Corey Davis. Davis, a freshman All-American by College Football News and FWAA, led all FBS freshmen receivers in yards (941) and also had a school freshman record with six touchdowns. There are big questions on defense, especially the front seven, where all the starting linebackers and six of the top 10 defensive linemen graduated. At least three of four starters are back in the secondary, including leading tackler Justin Currie (113 tackles, three interceptions). He's the only one of the top five tacklers from last season who returns. Fleck and his young coaching staff have gotten players to buy in and started bringing in talent to help, but he knows strides on the field need to be made, too. "My feeling is that he knows he eventually has to win," Drew said. "I don't think more than five wins should be ex- pected this year, and three victories might be a good place to start, but I think 2015 has to be the year Fleck's Broncos make some noise." — Stacy Clardie D an Enos thinks there are plenty of reasons to be excited for 2014. His starting offensive line, quarterback, top running back and one of the Mid-American Conference's best re- ceivers return on offense, and nine starters are back on a defense that was fourth in the MAC in total defense in 2013.
