Keynotes Chris Trimble — author, researcher and Dartmouth professor in the MBA Program — will present the keynote address “An Innovation Rev-Elation” on Monday morning at the conference. His keynote will center on ways to get things back on track through innovation, meeting the challenge of executing innovation initiatives, building project teams and bringing discipline to innovation management. Takeaways will be how to nurture innovation to deliver legal services (AFAs, LPM, etc.) so they can be successful, how to experiment without breaking what’s working, how to identify what’s blocking your firm from being innovative and how to change the culture so it can be successful with new ideas. Chris will be doing an unplugged discussion after the keynote. Tom Koulopoulos is back for a third engagement at ILTA as Tuesday morning’s keynote. Tom’s focus will be on the subject of simplification through innovation as he talks about how the simplicity of an innovative business model can trump myriad gadget innovations. And, in the ultimate test of simplification, he looks at how we can apply simplicity to the notion of predicting and surviving the future. Tom will be doing an unplugged discussion session after his keynote. Robin Crow, our Wednesday morning keynote speaker, has evolved from an RCA recording artist into a successful entrepreneur. His core message as a leadership speaker centers on exceeding expectations, executing a vision and taking responsibility — and that applies to anyone in any business. Learn how anyone in any job can lead with enthusiasm, passion and purpose. Robin will use his music during the presentation. Jan McInnis, a comedian and emcee, will talk about “finding the funny” in business communications. In this in-depth look at why you should use humor in business, where to look for it and how to develop it, Jan will cover humor and health, what’s funny in the business environment, developing humor quickly and guidelines for keeping yourself out of trouble when using humor. Over 200 Educational Sessions As always, the entire educational program for our annual conference has been developed by ILTA member volunteers. Most sessions are being presented by ILTA members, and topics will fall into one of these four main areas of focus: information management, organization management, applications and desktop, and technology operations.
