The 6-6, 220-pound Robinson is not guaranteed a contract as a sec- ond-rounder, and faces a challenge earning a roster spot at a small for- ward position crowded by the likes of seven-year veteran Corey Brewer, who averaged 12.3 points in 81 games last season, and five-year vet Chase Budinger, who averaged 6.7 points in 41 games, but he adds a physical dimension that Minnesota is sorely lacking. "Immediately, he has the ath- leticism factor," TWolvesBlog.com writer Mike Reynolds said. "The Timberwolves don't have a lot of guys that can really run the floor well and play above the rim. That's a role that Robinson could fill right away, and that would probably give him a chance to play this season. "He doesn't appear to be a great outside shooter, but that is certainly a scenario that can improve over time. "It just seems overall like he has the tools to succeed." While the Thunder were long rumored to be a team enamored with McGary, most experts had Oklahoma City grabbing the 6-11, 250-pounder with the 29th pick, if he was still available. However, the franchise didn't want to take any chances, selecting him earlier in the first round. "We try to get the players where we have them on the board, and we felt like the opportunity to add him to the team is valuable," Thunder general manager Sam Presti said. "I can't project what happens be- hind us, but when you have a player Stauskas (shown with NBA commissioner Adam Silver) was selected by Sacramento with the No. 8 pick, and he was one of three Wolverines chosen overall in the 2014 NBA Draft.
