PREP PROFILES Thousand Oaks (Calif.) Westlake five-star quarterback Malik Henry camped at some major schools dur- ing the month of June. The 6-3, 180-pounder took visits to Michigan S t a t e , M i c h i g a n and Ohio State, and finished his tour with a visit to Notre Dame for the Irish Invasion on June 20. "It was a great experience," the class of 2016 re- c r u i t s a i d . " I had a lot of fun. The campus was amazing. I really, really loved the campus. I had a great time working with [quarterbacks coach Matt] LaF- leur on the field. It was great. "[Head coach Brian] Kelly and Coach LaFleur can help me as a player. LaFleur has been in the NFL and dealt with NFL guys, and his experience could really help take me to the next level. He's worked with some big NFL guys, and that's im- pressive and will play into my deci- sion. He's really experienced." Notre Dame was one of Hen- ry's first offers on April 22, and he couldn't wait to visit. "Just seeing the campus and see- ing what Notre Dame has to offer me on and off the field, I knew it would be special," Henry said. "It was im- pressive. They laid everything out there for me and explained things really well. The academic side of Notre Dame was great." W h i l e o n h i s visit to campus, Henry was able to spend time with quarterback Malik Zaire and pick his brain about what it's like to be a Notre Dame stu- dent-athlete. " M a l i k l o v e s it there," Henry said. "He really struggled to pick out anything that he would change or anything that he had an issue with. He said the coaches treat you like you're a part of their own family, and they have lived up to everything they said when they recruited him. "The honesty is big for me. I know these coaches say a lot to get you to come to the school, so to hear that the staff at Notre Dame is honest is great." As a sophomore, Henry completed 158 of 262 passes (60.3 percent) for 2,362 yards with 21 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. — Tom Loy West Coast Five-Star QB Loves Visit To South Bend MALIK HENRY ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ Westlake High School Thousand Oaks, Calif.
