PET IN YOUR POCKET
Japanese em-
broidery artist
Hiroko Kubota
and her hallmark
hand-made shirts
with a cat hiding
in the poket have
gained a huge
popularity ac-
cross the net.
The artist confesses, that
before the cat shirt became
a commercial product, it
was her son' s favourite
outfit. Because Hiroko's
child was sinking in stan-
dard-sized clothes, careful
mom started dressing her
growing gentleman herself.
This unusual approach to-
wards basic shirts has later
amused grown-ups, who
began placing orders on
the shirts.
Once Hiroko recognised the
demand for her hobby, she
turned it into a business.
Today, everyone can get
a cat shirt as long as they
have patience: the waiting
list is not the shortest. Hi-
roko accepts orders at etsy.
com, on the official page
of her workshop namely
