She was the wife of the late Edward F. Jerominek Sr. Born Oct. 23, 1915 in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Koziol) Paydos. She previously resided in Woonsocket. She is survived by three sons, Edward F., Joseph, and Robert Jerominek; two daughters, Jane Bibeault and Marleen Richmond; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late John Jerominek. Leo P. sweeney sr., 75, of Slatersville, died July 24 at Fatima Hospital in North Providence. He was born in North Smithfield, son of the late Paul and Yvonne (Armstrong) Sweeny. He leaves a daughter, Lori Brown; a stepson, Michael Taylor; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and sev- eral nieces and nephews. margaret ChamPagne, 74, of Woonsocket, died July 29 at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Leo Champagne. Born in Woonsocket, Sept. 8, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Lena (Gill) Peloquin. She leaves her children, Brenda Champagne in Florida, and Leo Champagne Jr., Barry Champagne and Jessica Champagne, all of Woonsocket; 10 grandchildren and three great-granchildren; sisters Linda DiBasco, Jeanne St. George, Lorraine Peloquin and Pauline Peloquin; and a brother, Ronald Peloquin. Also, Michael W. Shiflett of Woonsocket lost his mother, Shirley M. Shiflett, 75, of Pawtucket, on July 30. Helen Tudino of North Smithfield lost her brother, Frank T. Sousa, 86, of Bristol, on July 31. Mary E. (Gray) Drapeau, R.N., 72, of North Smithfield, died Thursday, July 31, 2014, in the Philip Hulitar Residence, Providence. She was the wife of Col. Robert L. Drapeau, U.S. Army, retired, whom she married Dec. 11, 1965. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Long) Gray. Mary was a graduate of St. Clare High School and St. Joseph's School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse for the former Woonsocket Hospital and Mount St. Rita Health Care Center. Mary later worked for the Woonsocket school system as a teacher's aide. After tracing her heritage, she obtained dual citizenship with Ireland. Mary was a devoted grand- mother, avid beach-goer, and loved South County. Besides her husband, she leaves their son, Robert G. Drapeau of North Smithfield; her grandson, Jack Drapeau of Norwood, Mass.; and her sister, Joanne Cook of Maine. She was predeceased by two brothers, William and Joseph Gray. Her funeral was held Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial following in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 190 No. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial followed in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone, Mass. (Thurlow) Burns, 85, of North Main Street, Pascoag, died Friday, July 25, 2014, at Bayberry Commons, Pascoag. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Burns. Born in Lee, Maine, a daughter of the late Charles and Adria (Ware) Thurlow, she had lived in Stratford, Conn., for most of her life before moving to Pascoag five years ago. Mrs. Burns was a clerk for the Connecticut Division of Motor Vehicles in Norwalk for many years before retir- ing. She was a member of Woonsocket Chapter 3, Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Lindsay of Monticello, Maine, Cynthia Doane of Danforth, Maine, and Mary Jannarelli of Pascoag; one sister, Mary Jane Cote of Milford, Conn.; seven grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Bernard Thurlow and Alice Smith. An Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held Thursday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will be private. On-site registration for the 2.5-mile walk begins at 9 a.m., with the kick-off at 10 a.m. Registration is also available online at www.aidsprojectri. org or www.firstgiving.com/ aidswalkri . AIDS Walk 2014 T-shirts are available to anyone who raises $100 or more, while supplies last. "The walk, over its nearly 30-year history, has become not only a fundraiser but a huge gathering of people across Rhode Island who care about fighting HIV/AIDS," said Thomas Bertrand, AIDS Project Rhode Island executive director. "It has also become a family event that is educa- tional, fun, and an opportunity to get some exercise while sup- porting an important cause." C ECILE I.(L AVALLEE ) F ITZGERALD Cecile I.(Lavallee) Fitzgerald, 86, passed away peacefully July 31st at The Friendly Home, Woonsocket, RI. Born December 28, 1927 in Manville, she was the daughter of the late Dina (Dupuis) and William Lavallee. Cecile was a stitcher for many local companies and enjoyed travelling, sewing, crocheting and crafts. She is survived by a son, Henry D. Fitzgerald Jr. and his wife Ouida of Novato, CA, four grandchildren, Georgia and Jackson Fitzgerald of Novato, CA and Neil Fitzgerald and Taylor Deem of RI, two great grandchildren, a niece and several nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Michael P. Fitzgerald and an infant daughter, Colleen Fitzgerald. She was the sister of the late Lionel Lavallee, Argentina Lavallee and Rose L'Heureux.
