C O M | 77 A Fair Education Over the past nine years, Eastern Idaho State Fair, in partnership with Butler Amusements, Inc., have awarded $48,000 in scholarships to outstanding high school seniors. Graduating seniors from the sur- rounding 16 counties were encouraged to apply for the scholarships. The winners were selected based on past years' experience in FFA or 4-H along with their personal and pro- fessional goals, honors, activities, community service and financial need. The five-member scholarship committee had the difficult task of selecting just six winners out of the many great applications. "We were amazed at the record number of applicants this year. We are proud to see so many outstanding local students and look forward to seeing them succeed in the future," said President George Hamilton. Each winner receives a $1,000 scholar- ship for the college of his or her choice. The winners are listed, in no particular order, as follows: Sarah Hibbert, Pocatello; Mikaela Jensen, Basalt; Jason Wade, Weston; Morgan Cortez, American Falls; Josey Grover, Dubois; and Kaydee Isom, Blackfoot. The scholarship winners were invited to attend a special lun- cheon with the Eastern Idaho State Fair Board of Directors and staff on Friday, April 18, to receive their awards. The EISF encourages interested 2015 graduating seniors to enter this year's fair as a 4-H or FFA member to qualify for next year's scholarship.
