PARKLIFE
WEEKENDER
The weekend was tipped to be a wash-out
because of the behaviour of bi-polar rain
Gods and a slice of punters that seemed
entirely focused on causing chaos, but that
couldn't have been further from the truth.
Park Life defied the cards it had been dealt
and was a sensational two days.
The HUGE festival has grown rapidly since
its arrival in 2010 and is attracting bigger
and better names each year. The legend
Snoop Dogg captained the world-class
line-up that included an array of impressive
acts like The Foals, Annie Mac and Disclo-
sure. The festival boasted a truly remark-
able line-up, with over 200 artists taking to
the stage to perform to the 160,000-strong
sea of attendees who were dancing come
rain or shine. A personal favourite was Sam
Smith, who took to the main stage on Sun-
day afternoon to give an emotive and soulful
performance that was just what the doctor
ordered. After all the non-stop fist pumping
to the base-y house that was heavily influ-
enced by the Warehouse Project, it was nice
to stop and shed a little tear to Smith croon-
ing his way through the Arctic Monkey's 'Do
I Wanna Know?'. Needless to say though, af-
ter his heart wrenching performance, it was
straight back to dancing like a mad-man just
in time for Nina Kravis and Karl Kox to set the
festival alight.
Who knows what 2015 has in store for the
Park Life Weekender, all I know is that it will
be difficult to top this year's explosive event.
Spanning across the majority of Heaton Park – one
of the largest municipal parks in Europe – Park Life
Weekender sent Manchester into a frenzy.
