Hi!My name is Carson Clark and I just turned twelve, but I have been photographing nature since I was five
years old. My dad is a professional nature photographer and he was the one who got me started in photography. I love to go out with him to photograph and explore nature. My first award-winning image was taken when I had just turned six. My dad
and I were exploring a local nature park when I took a shot of a monarch butterfly in flight using a Nikon Coolpix camera. When I showed the picture to my dad, he became very excited. That picture received a highly honored award in the Youth category of Nature’s Best Photography Windland Smith Rice International Awards back in 2006. I was the youngest winner ever. Besides being on display
at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, it was also used by Emmy award-winning composer Gary Malkin for the front cover of his latest CD, “The Calling: Songs from the Heart.” Since that time I have won three other awards including one from London, England, for my photography.
