32 • RV PRO • SEPTEMBER 2014 rv-pro.com Elkhart Open House Week GRAND DESIGN As if Grand Design hadn't been making enough inroads into gaining market share in its first year-plus of existence, the RV maker is taking aim at continued growth with its introductions at its open house event this year. e RV maker expects to have 16 units on display, including completely new models, new floor- plans, and many innovative technology-driven features. As of September, Grand Design is adding a travel trailer floor- plan to the company's Reflection line. (Previously, Grand Design had not competed in that market segment, instead choosing to focus on conventional fifth wheels and fifth wheel toy haulers.) In addition, two super-light fifth wheel models targeting cus- tomers with smaller pickups will be added, and both should be ready for display for Grand Design's open house. In addition, Grand Design's Solitude line will introduce a wide-body, lighter model that the RV maker has had in the works for more than six months. Solitude GM Marc Hauser says the new model is about 2,000 pounds lighter thanks to engineering, without sacrificing any amenities. Meanwhile, Grand Design's Momentum toy hauler line will introduce its new M Class unit. GM Nate Goldenberg says two floorplans of the lower-priced model will be on display. Grand Design's open house display will be located at the entrance to the Hall of Fame, at the southeast corner of County Road 17 and Executive Parkway. On the evening of Sept. 15, Grand Design will host an invi- tation-only dealer appreciation event in Mishawaka for Grand Design dealers and the company's strategic partners. LITTLE GUY WORLDWIDE Teardrop trailer manufacturer Little Guy Worldwide will debut a few of its new T@B models for dealers during its second Elkhart Open House Week event. Additionally, the company will feature all of its current models plus drawings of a completely new trailer that it plans to unveil as a pro- totype model at the National RV Trade Show in December. Little Guy Worldwide is hosting its open house on the northwest corner of County Road 6 and County Road 17. e RV maker says it will be offering promotional buy-ins. Other details, including show dates and hours, were still being finalized in early August. MIDWEST AUTOMOTIVE DESIGNS In 2013, Midwest Automotive Designs used Elkhart Open House Week to introduce its Weekender RV Class B motorhome with luxur y amenities t o d e a l e r s . Building on that success, the RV maker this year plans to introduce its Daycruiser RV to dealers, which it describes as being more of a destina- tion vehicle. Midwest Automotive Designs will host its open house on the northwest corner of County Road 13 and County Road 6. Show days and times were still being finalized as of early August. e RV maker also will host plant tours of its manufacturing facility at 4911 Green Court in Elkhart at 1 p.m. daily throughout the week of the show.
