94 • September 2014 • S I G N & D I G I T A L G R A P H I C S EXHIBIT & DISPLAY Haida Heritage Centre at Kaay Llnagaay Skidegate, Haida Gwaii, British Columbia The Haida Heritage Centre is designed to encourage visitors and locals alike to explore the rich culture of the Haida Nation and the natu- ral beauty of Haida Gwaii and the Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve through the use of exhibits, inter- active activities and artifacts. The Centre offers not only insights to Haida Gwaii and its people, (historic and contemporary) but also provides a place of activity and learning for all. Haida art is presented throughout to complement the stories presented and enhance the visitor experience. The visitor experience includes the greeting house (atrium), canoe house where visitors can watch the carvers, performing house, and the Haida Gwaii Museum that includes a Parks Canada component dealing with the National Park. "David has proven a sincere willingness to learn about and listen to our community," says Nika Collison, associate curator for the Haida Heritage Centre at Kaay Llnagaay. "His loyalty to our project is impressive. Above all, David and his team have always approached our community and unique needs with great respect."
