S I G N & D I G I T A L G R A P H I C S • September 2014 • 121 VALUEJET INK ALTERNATIVE Digital Sign Technologies Inc., introduces alternative ink bags for Mutoh Valuejet 1624 and 1638 with eco-solvent ink. The one-liter ink bags are vacuum-filled using the company's proprietary degassing technology, which completely removes any gasses from the ink. A degassed ink guarantees a consistent high-quality output, without nozzle outages, banding and color shifts. These ink bags would allow you output longer prints without any quality degradation. The alternative eco-solvent ink for Mutoh Valuejet exceeds the quality of the OEM ink. Besides a great color gamut and a clog-free performance of the ink, it also features a great adhesion to media and an improved scratch resistance, enabling businesses to print on a wider variety of media which was problematic for an OEM ink, such as glossy calendared vinyls. DST will supply a pre-programmed smart chip card with every ink bag. For information, visit http:// hp9000inks.com. SAFETY CONTROLS MultiCam, Dallas, introduces additional safety control options to its MultiCam product line. Its new options such as the light curtain, safety mat, and laser safety eyewear are added protection to the router, laser, plasma, knife, and waterjet, and digital finishing machines and operators. Light curtains are photoelectric transmitters that cast infrared light beams to a receiver unit around the MultiCam machine. They act as a personal safety device by stopping the cutting sequence once an object or person crosses the beams. At start-up, the machine automatically checks for any safety faults and will issue either a safe status or a warning. Additional safety control options offered by MultiCam include safety mats and eyewear. Safety mats are fitted around the machine system to provide a safe area for operators to enter when needing to stop motion and close the mechani- cal shutter. Special eyewear is encouraged for operators and other personnel that will provide additional protection for the eyes during laser op- eration. For information, visit www.MultiCam.com.
