The certification is a two-part test that includes a written exam and hands-on vehicle wrap installation demonstration. "Avery Dennison certified installers pass a rigorous test to demon- strate their application skills," says Paul Roba, technical manager for Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions. "Installers that are Avery Den- nison certified receive a free listing in the Avery Dennison 'Find an In- staller' directory, which connects individuals or small businesses with certified wrap installers." RTape Website Now Features Mobile-Responsive Design RTape Corp., South Plainfield, N.J., a division of Nekoosa Holdings, Inc., announces that its website (www.rtape.com) is now optimized for compatibility with mobile devic- es, such as smartphones and tablets. "We felt that we needed to make the RTape site more mobile responsive," says John Danio, VP of marketing for Nekoosa Holdings. "At least 20 percent of all website visits today are on some type of mobile device. In coming years, that percentage will increase dramatically." Danio explains that mobile responsive design means that a website recognizes a mobile device and automati- cally optimizes the page view for that mobile device. That way all of the RTape content, images and structure, that appear on the desktop screen automatically format to correctly fit the mobile device screen. EFI Acquires DirectSmile EFI, Fremont, Calif., a leader in customer-focused digital printing innovation, announces that it has acquired DirectSmile GmbH, Berlin, Germany, a provider of soft- ware solutions for cross media marketing automation. DirectSmile invented image personalization in 2001 and today makes media personaliza- tion and automation software that streamlines sophisticated marketing and production tasks for corporations, agencies and printing companies. DirectSmile's technologies extend EFI's offerings and will give customers expanded, fully integrated capabilities with data-driven digital print, web, email, social media and mobile marketing workflows. Large-format printer manu- facturer Roland DGA, Irvine, Calif., not only unveiled its new Roland DisplayStudio digital sign system at ISA 2014, it also gave away free systems to lucky Expo attendees. A total of three Roland DisplayStudio "sign-in-a-box" packages, each featuring a 40" monitor, media player and software, were given away over the course of the show. Winners were selected at random from those who entered Roland's drawing after attending one of company's in-booth digital signage demonstrations. "The launch of Roland DisplayStudio attracted a lot of atten- tion at ISA, and this related giveaway definitely added to the buzz and excitement," says Rick Scrimger, president of Roland DGA Corp. "We congratulate all of the winners." Roland DisplayStudio is a complete, turnkey solution de- signed especially for traditional sign shops looking to expand their product offerings and increase profits by introducing digital signage to existing print customers.
