No.1 Thomas Rawls, Central Michigan running back: Rawls didn't start quickly with only 21 yards on seven first- half carries, but he was a battering ram when it mattered most. In the second half as the Chippewas were protecting a lead, Rawls dominated the Boilermakers, even running over some of them on bruising runs, en route to a 155-yard, two-touchdown performance. No.2 Cooper Rush, Central Michigan quarterback: Rush didn't have to do much but what he was asked to do, he executed. He completed 11-of-16 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns. His only mistake was a third-quarter interception. No.3 Ja'Whaun Bentley, Purdue linebacker: Bent- ley had that pick, returning it 44 yards to set up a Purdue touchdown, and also came back with a third-down TFL on the next series. He's clearly still making some freshman mistakes — at least one TD was directly on him — but he's playing every snap and competing as well as any Boilermaker. No.4 Brandon Greer, Central Michi- gan DB: Greer's intercep- tion return for a TD was key, but he also forced a fumble and recovered an- other for the Chippewas.
