Making a Move
Freshman cornerback Ced-
ric Dale told Hazell on Sunday he
wanted to move to offense. So the
coaches obliged, and Dale was with
the receivers on Tuesday.
"He feels more comfortable (on
offense)," Hazell said.
Dale was working with the
third-team defense, mostly, but get-
ting some snaps with the second
team. Now, he's working with the
scout team offense.
Purdue has only Anthony
Brown, Leroy Clark, Da'Wan Hunte
and Brandon Roberts as returning
cornerbacks on its roster now for
2015. Frankie Williams could move
back to corner — he's been playing
safety and nickel back through the
first three games.
Bye week event
The Boilermakers' first bye
week is Oct. 25, but fans still will
have a chance to visit the south end
zone patio that Saturday.
Purdue will have "Boilermaker
Octoberfest" from 5:30-9 p.m. with a
polka band, food, drinks and an op-
portunity to meet student-athletes.
The event is free to John
Purdue Club members and Purdue
students. It's $10 for non-JPC mem-
bers. To reserve a spot, call 765-494-
3248.
a night with Joe tiller
planned
Former coach Joe Tiller will be
making his annual trek back to Purdue
for the Michigan State game and will
be hosting a charity event, "A Night
With Joe Tiller," on Friday, Oct. 10 from
5 to 7 p.m.
The location is still to be deter-
mined, but the event will be part of
Hammer Down Cancer Week and pro-
ceeds will benefit the Purdue Center for
Cancer Research. There will silent auction
and Corn Hole Tournament as part of the
festivities and admission fees will be $10
for students and $20 for all others.
the next three
Iowa, Sept. 27
The Hawkeyes were an 11-point
favorite against arch-rival Iowa State
but lost 20-17 when Cyclones kicker
Cole Netten made a field goal with
two seconds remaining.
Iowa produced a mere 275
yards of offense and a season-low
146 yards through the air. Quarter-
back Jake Rudock ran for a touch-
down, and the Hawks grabbed a
14-3 going into halftime, but sur-
rendered 17 of the game's final 20
points to drop their second straight
to Iowa State at Kinnick Stadium.
