GOLDANDBLACK EXPRESS • VOLUME 25, EXPRESS 4 • 35 BIG VISIT WEEKEND FOR BASKETBALL, TOO Matt Painter and his staff will host 2015 commitments Ryan Cline and Grant Weatherford for their official visits this weekend. "I can't wait," Cline said. But probably more impor- tantly, the Boilermaker coaching staff will have two of its top junior targets on campus, also, in guards Kyle Guy and Jarron Cumberland, who'll be making unofficial visits. For Guy, a top-50-caliber play- er in his class, it's another in the long line of trips he's made to West Lafayette, whether it be for recruit- ing visits, games or camps. It coin- cides with the official visits being made by Cline and Weatherford, Guy's former AAU teammates. For Cumberland, who was of- fered a scholarship in July, it's the first time he'll visit West Lafayette. PURDUE VISITS BLUE- CHIPPER Purdue's entire staff made an in-home visit Monday with Fort Wayne Homestead big man Caleb Swanigan, the Boilermakers' No. 1 2015 target. It was one of 12 schools to visit the big man in the past week- plus, a list that has included Ken- tucky, Arizona, Michigan State and UCLA. Swanigan will not sign until the spring, per his guardian Roosevelt Barnes, who said Swanigan, known universally as "Biggie," will make a "business"-minded decision. "Biggie's looking for playing time, touches and he wants to win," said Barnes, who played foot- ball and basketball at Purdue from 1978-81.. Swanigan is ranked 16th na- tionally in the 2015 class by Rivals. com after reclassifying up a year from 2016. COMMITMENT TRACKER R Sindelar: In a 50-20 win over Trigg County, the Caldwell County (Ky.) QB completed 14-of- 17 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns. R Jones: The Columbus East running back ran for 255 yards and five touchdowns in his team's 70-7 win over Jennings County, all in the first half. He's over a thou- sand yards for the season already. R Running back Richard Wor- ship: Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights, Ohio, lost to Holy Name to drop to 0-3, but the run- ning back ran for touchdowns of 84 and 21 yards. He was carried off the field on a stretcher, per re- ports, and upon examination, was determined to have suffered a se- verely bruised back that will side- line him for a few weeks. R Running back Robert En- nis: In Millville (N.J.) High School's 39-24 season-opening win over Mainland, Ennis set a new school record with 315 rushing yards, with touchdowns of 50, 30, 52 and 68 yards. R Linebacker Wyatt Cook: McDonogh High School in Pomfret, Md., beat Elder 28-14. He recorded 11 tackles, with three sacks. R Running back Tario Fuller: Lanier High School (Ga.) beat Flowery Branch, 27-12. Fuller ran for 129 yards on 24 carries, includ- ing a game-sealing six-yard TD. j Brian Neubert High-scoring junior Jarron Cumberland will make an unofficial visit to West Lafayette Saturday.
