M
innesota charged into Michigan Sta-
dium fully intent on running away
with the Little Brown Jug. They did so,
quite literally.
The Gophers pounded for 206 yards
rushing — 35 more yards than Michigan
gained in total — and sprinted away from
the Wolverines, 30-14, in a disheartening
display at The Big House. Afterward, they
sprinted for the jug, running about the field
with it and holding it aloft for their fans.
"To get ready for this game, we watched
their film and went back and watched
some of our film," said Minnesota defen-
sive lineman Cameron Botticelli. "It is
night and day, what was seen from our of-
fense and defense in comparison to three
years ago.
"Words can't describe how I felt watch-
ing my teammates run over and grab the
Jug. Words can't describe the feeling that I
felt after losing 58-0 and what I'm feeling
right now."
The same might be said for Michigan, in
a vastly different sense.
The Wolverines saw Minnesota running
back David Cobb go for 183 yards on 32
Sophomore quarterback Shane Morris made the
second start of his U-M career, and he went 7-of-19
passing for 49 yards, with an interception and a fum-
ble, in the losing effort.
