EVENT PREVIEW HOPSIN EVENT REVIEW DJ LARIZZLE AT DISCRETE GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS JAM BAXTER One of UK hip hop's brightest stars Jam Baxter is very quickly gaining a reputation for his in- cednary hip hop. He raps about anything, from teenag- ers on ketamine to cannibalism, and often does it at great speed and with very, very, dark lyrics. Baxter first came to prominence as a member of Contact Play, before making some serious waves with his solo album 'The Gruesome Features' and Hip Hop super group Dead Players, a col- laboration with Dabbla and Ghosttown. 2014 has also been a big year for Baxter, with the release of his most ambitious project yet, a collaboration EP with veteran producer Jon Phonics called 'Fresh Flesh'. Phonics' atmospheric beats perfectly compliment Baxter's dark lyrics and wicked flow, and are clear signs that he's upped the intensity which, for fans of the darkest rapper in the UK, can only be a good thing. In a genre that is constantly needing fresh ideas Jam Baxter is consistently mentioned as an innovator, and we can't wait to see what he does next.
