7 37 Issue 67 / 2014 FESTIVALS guestlist.net Taking place from October 8th to 16th, BFI is one of the most important cinema-related event of this fall. The London Film Festival will preview a series of anticipating movies for the au- dience and the critics who will attend the event. This year the line-up includes The Imitation Game, Wild, Fox Catcher, Mom- my, Rosewater, Men Women & Children and many more. The new buzzy Benedict Cumber- batch's movie, The imitation Game, will open BFI during the first night. The Best Film Award will again be handed out in Of- ficial Competition; the Suther- land Award in the First Feature Competition and the Grierson Award in Documentary Com- petition. Each section is open to international and British films. Famous actors and cinema stars due to attend the Festival's gala screenings include: Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, Allen Leech, Alex Lawther, Mark Strong, Matthew Beard, David Ayer, Brad Pitt, Bennett Miller, Steve Carrel, J.K Simmons, Ja- son Reitman, Ansel Elgort, Kai- tlyn Dever, Reese Witherspoon, Nick Hornby, Cheryl Strayed. A can't-miss festival! BFI LONDON FILM FESTIVAL London is getting ready for the Film festival that will start in October. As if the quirky dutch city wasn't great enough al- ready, there will be 300 events and 2000 during the 5 days in 80 clubs and venues.... if that's not a ra- veathon we don't know what is! The event prides itself on covering the FULL spectrum of electronic sub- genres; whilst the biggest and most respected names in dance music will almost all of course be there, ADE also makes a point of including the freshest upcoming acts from the more niche sub- genres - and everything in between! It's been running for 18 years now, attracting over 300,00 visitors from over 75 differnet countries. By night, the world's most respected promoters and DJs will be holding events in some of the best clubs and venues Amsterdam has to offer - including the famous Trouw, Studio 80, Paradiso and Melkweg. If you look up any respectable DJ on RA right now, chances are their next dates will be in one of these places. We're espe- cially looking forward to DJ Jazzy Jeff, Soul Clap and DJ W!ld on the Friday at Sugar Factory! By day, the ADE playground is a haven for music-lovers of all kind: exhibitions, in- store promotions, pop- up stores, film screenings and art shows in venues all around the city - including rooftop terraces, galleries, outdoor spaces and cloth- ing stores. The ADE conferences pro- vide the ultimate place to be if you're at all interested in the music business, as it's now recognised as the most important of its kind. There'll be talks and net- working opportunities re- lated to music & technology, VJs & visuals, sustainability, harder dance styles, emerg- ing artists and education of students. Amsterdam Dance Event is truly a massive celebration - there's no doubt it should be on every electronic mu- sic lover's bucket list, what- ever their inclinations or role in the scene. AMSTERDAM DANCE EVENT IS ON ITS WAY FOR 2014! For serious lovers of electronic music, Amsterdam will be trans- formed into a true paradise from the 15th - 19th October 2014.
