Hamburg born producer Deniz Aydin, A.K.A Day Din, is currently making some serious waves with his high qaulity tunes. Starting his musical journey as a drummer, Day Din was exposed to psytrance, Goa trance, house, and techno. This led to him being inspired to put down the sticks and step into the studio, and he's never looked back. Utilising all of these styles and an ear for great samples (Back to The Future anyone?), Day Din has slowly been rising to the top of the progressive trance scene. His latest single, "Mr Trumpet", is a great example of this experimental at- titude. Melodic, funky trumpet parts are layered over rising synths and sampled drum breaks, before a driving trance beat kicks in underneath to really get things going. It's bril- liant, and music fans seem to agree - The track went to No. 1 on Beatport within 48 hours of being released. With many other great tunes under his belt, we're sure you'll be seeing a lot more of Day Din very soon. (Matt) Justin Martin's remix "Stay" Keeps the melodic essence of the track but ads some outstanding groovy baselines. whilst keeping in touch with the tracks original vibe. ALBUM OF THE MONTH LEON VYNEHALL MUSIC FOR THE UNINVITED OUR PLAYLIST KOALA (ORINAL MIX) Oliver Heldens SAY MY NAME Odesza ft. Zyra MY HEAD IS A JUNGLE (MK REMIX) Wankelmut & Emma Louise BACK AGAIN (ORIGINAL MIX) Bob Sinclar Here's the house/techno on our playlist this month ARTIST OF THE MONTH DAY DIN Leon Vynehall is not one to follow trends. A resident of the outskirts of Leices- ter rather than the centre of London. We begin with Under The Deku Tree, a Zelda-influenced curveball of a track - it is almost en- tirely dominated by friend Laurie (of Eagles For Hands fame)'s crescending cello. Vynehall respectfully adds an unintrusive little back beat - as if tapping along on a table - and complimen- tary video-game like synths to give the track some catchiness. Goodthing brings us gen- tly back into more charted waters of house music. Soft, distorted wubbiness leads us by the hand into a bub- bling bassline and skitter- ing snares like the sea. The echoing diva vocals are the mermaid of this oceanic track - familiar and seduc- tive, yet nevertheless dis- torted and strange. It was relelased back in March this year but Leon Vynehall's double EP must surely be a contender for house release of the year TRACK OF THE MONTH HENRY KRINKLE - STAY - JUSTIN MAR TIN REMIX
