The Boilermakers had been good this season
at getting pressure but didn't sack Michigan
State QB Connor Cook once. Cook escaped
plays, including one by Jake Replogle
(pictured), when he had to, allowing the
Spartans to put up big offensive numbers.
Three plays after the big reception by Anthrop,
quarterback Austin Appleby was flagged for
a false start penalty when he stepped back
dramatically to put Justin Sinz in motion on a
fourth down. The Boilermakers had to settle
for a 36-yard field goal by Paul Griggs.
Danny Anthrop is fast becoming Purdue's go-to
receiver. On this play in the first quarter, he
makes a nice over-the-shoulder catch for a
36-yard reception. Anthrop has been the receiver
on the Boilermakers' four longest pass plays of
the season.
