ILLINOIS (4-4 OVERALL, 1-3 BIG TEN) Illinois earned its second Big Ten win under head coach Tim Beckman, upsetting Min- nesota 28-24 … The Illini led 14-0 in the first quarter, scoring touchdowns on two of their first three drives … Senior quarterback Reilly O'Toole went 14-of-21 passing for 188 yards and a touchdown through the air, and added 59 yards and a score on the ground … Despite giving up 21 unanswered points over a stretch, the Illini defense forced three turnovers and five three-and-outs in the win. MARYLAND (5-3, 2-2) Wide receiver Stefon Diggs caught a touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter to pre- vent a shutout loss to Wiscon- sin … The Terps were thumped by the Bad- gers 52-7 in the first-ever meeting between the two schools … Not much went right for Maryland, but Diggs did pile up 163 all-pur- pose yards in the loss … Maryland lost a fumble and turned the ball over twice on downs leading to 14 points for Wisconsin in a mistake-laden day in Madison.
