Other All-ACC Quarterbacks Jim Rossi — Rossi played one year behind Ga - briel, then started for two more after Gabriel moved on to the NFL. He led the team to the first of three consecutive ACC titles in 1963 and was named first- team All-ACC as a senior. Bruce Shaw — Shaw shared the quarterback duties throughout his career, which started as a sophomore in 1971. Playing in Lou Holtz's veer of - fense, Shaw split time with Dave Buckey in 1972 and '73, but was named first-team All-ACC as a junior in 1972. Dave Buckey — As part of the first class of freshman eligibility, Buckey and his twin brother, Don, were on the cover of Sports Illustrated before they ever played a game at NC State. But the two were a big part of the Holtz teams that went to four straight bowl games during the coach's tenure. Dave earned first-team All-ACC quarterback honors as a senior in 1975, while Don was a first-team All-ACC and Football Writers of America All-America split end. Terry Jordan — Jordan took over for Mont - gomery as a sophomore in 1990, but missed more than half of his junior year after breaking his arm against North Carolina. He returned with a flurry for his senior season, leading the Pack to its fifth consecutive win over the Tar Heels in 1992. He was a second-team All-ACC selection in 1992, Sheridan's last season with the Wolfpack. Jamie Barnette — A four-year starter from Rox- boro, N.C., Barnette put up record-setting numbers, thanks in part to the fact that he was throwing to future NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Torry Holt. He threw for 9,461 yards and 59 touchdowns as the Wolfpack's first four-year starter at quarterback. As a junior in 1998, he was named second-team All-ACC. — Tim Peeler Glennon
