for 219 yards and three touchdowns
on the ground by Michigan State in a
35‑11 loss last weekend, with most of the
damage coming from MSU star running
back Jeremy Langford.
The Spartans averaged 4.8 yards per tote
in the game, and now Michigan must gear

game with even more prolific numbers.
Indiana currently ranks eighth in the
country for rushing with an average of
289.9 yards per game, while junior tail‑
back Tevin Coleman leads the nation with
an average of 170.3 yards per contest on
the ground. His average of 8.8 yards per
carry is third‑best in the country and the
highest of any player with at least 100 at‑
tempts. He is the only athlete from a Power
Five league that averages more than eight
yards per rush and has eclipsed the centu‑
ry mark in nine straight games.
The outstanding runner is also operating
behind an experienced offensive line. The
unit came into the year with 11 different
players who had starting experience and
ranked third with 165 returning starts, but
