GENTLEMAN'S DUB CLUB
- PRESSURE
Backbeat SoundSystem
is an 8 piece reggae outfit
formed in the Cornish idyll
of St Austell. The bands
influences include funk, ska,
pop and dub. With a bass
led party style feel the group
has been taking the festival
scene by storm. Their new
album Together Not Apart
was produced by lead singer
Dean Forrest. Their usual
uplifting vibe has carried
over to the new album and
is creating a buzz over the
internet with the singles
including 'Fighting Bull' and
'Losing Faith'.
Backbeat SoundSytem release a great
new album!
Gentleman's Dub Club
announce their next single
via Ranking Records,
Pressure. With synth
smears, and that heavy-
as-hell playing style we've
come to expect, the gents
have not disappointed.
With its catchy chorus
"Build it up, just to break it
down, pressure pushing me
from you", Pressure will be
accompanied by the GDC's
UK tour of the same title.
Gentleman's Dub Club release their
new single
ChainSka's lively old-school sound combines with the
deep skank of today's UK bass culture to command the
crowd get up and dance. Their debut EP, 'Unwind', came
out on December 21st and has since received radio play
from David Rodigan on his BBC Radio 1xtra show for four
consecutive weeks. ChainSka have so far shared stages
with The Skatalites, Mad Professor and The Abyssinians
(to name a few), and have had knees flying at festivals in-
cluding Glastonbury, Boomtown and One Love. Rodigan
had this to say: "Real musicians, real band, real brass sec-
tion… fabulous & so refreshing." Check them out!
