NEW RELEASES EVENT PREVIEW DREADZONE When looking for essential reggae albums, it's hard to see past 'Dub Revolution' (1975), produced by the legendary Lee "Scratch" Perry. A deep and brooding album, it sees Scratch at his peak, constructing groundbreaking drum & bass beats as well as innovative sound effects, that can still be seen influencing music today. Dub Revolution saw Scratch at his prime with a perfect blend of smooth, pro- found dubs and production techniques unseen at the time. The album sees an early use of a drum machine, now com- monly associated with electronic music, which spawned genres such as Electro, House, Techno, DnB etc. in the 1980's. The legendary band are bringing their dynamic mix of dub, reggae, techno, folk and rock to the stylish west London venue, Under the Bridge. Expect picks from acclaimed album Eye on the Horizon as well as grooves from their cata- logue which date back as far as 1993. They've got a handful of other dates over the next few months if you can't make it down to Chel- sea for the 14th. GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS More @ guestlist.net/Reggae Dreadzone bring their dizzyingly eclectic mix to London! Whether focusing on the melodies or looking at the wider influences of the al- bum, Dub Revolution is Perry at his absolute best.
