Admins' jobs not on endangered list
Administrative assistants can heave a sigh of relief, knowing that their jobs aren't on the "endangered list," re-
leased in July by CareerCast. Based partly on findings from the U.S.'s Bureau of Labour Statistics, the top 10 most
endangered jobs are:
1) Mail carrier. A 22 per cent decline is predicted by 2022.
2) Farmer. Technology has caused a 19 per cent drop in hiring.
3) Meter reader. A decline of 19 per cent.
4) Newspaper reporter. A 13 per cent decline thanks in large part
to the rise in usage of wireless devices.
5) Travel agent. A 12 per cent decline is predicted.
6) Lumberjack. A decline of nine per cent is predicted.
7) Flight attendent. A seven per cent decline.
8) Drill-press operator. A six per cent decline in new hires.
9) Printing worker. A decline of five per cent.
10) Tax examiner and collector. A four per cent drop.
