Get involved Hicks urges all fellow superintendents to serve in golf chapters. He's a former past president of the Inland Empire Chapter of the GCSA and the Idaho GCSA. "The local chapter is where we can really make the most impact as far as superintendents giving back to the industry and helping the new generation of superintendents and assistants come up through the ranks and learn how to do things," Hicks said. "I've always had a really strong connection to the local chapter level. I served on the board in Arizona on the Cactus and Pine Association before I moved to Idaho. "I really felt a pretty strong pull to serve and just would encourage anybody that's involved to get more involved. It's rewarding. I wish more people would be willing to serve." WT
