GOLDANDBLACK EXPRESS • VOLUME 25, EXPRESS 10 • 15 Cornerback 1. Anthony Brown 9 5-11, 192, Jr. 40 tackles, 5.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 8 PBU* Brown's been excellent all sea- son, and Saturday was no dif- ferent. The only thing he could have done better? Snag the interception that seemingly went through his hands. But he's been good in coverage and against the run. 2. Antoine Lewis 23 5-10, 185, Sr. (5) Strong Safety 1. Landon Feichter 44 6-0, 192, Sr. (5) 75 tackles, 1 TFL, 4 int., 1 PBU* Feichter almost single-handed- ly kept the Boilermakers within striking distance in the second half, first picking off a deflected ball in the end zone, then getting another near midfield. He had both played perfectly. Williams could play, if he passes a concussion test later this week. 2. Frankie Williams 24 5-9, 189, Jr. Free Safety 1. Taylor Richards 4 5-10, 196, Sr. 26 tackles, 3 PBU* Richards had eight tackles, one of his best outings of the season, with one for loss, when he came up to hit Imani Cross behind the line of scrimmage. Gregory has made a move lately, up to being Purdue's No. 4 safety. 2. Robert Gregory 7 6-1, 216, So. Cornerback 1. Leroy Clark 3 5-10, 187, So. 16 tackles, 1 PBU* Clark got the start last Saturday against Nebraska and Hazell said he played well, at least well enough to get the nod again this week. But there was the one play, when Clark blitzed but missed Armstrong, with the QB taking the ball 29 yards for the TD. Clark's responsibility actual was the pitch, not the QB, but he still missed the tackle. 2. Antoine Lewis 23 5-10, 185, Sr. (5) Rush End 1. Jalani Phillips 89 6-4, 265, Sr. 26 tackles, 3.5 TFL, 1 sack, 1 FR* Phillips had only four tackles, but he appeared more sound in his assignments against the zone read than he had in weeks prior, particularly against the Gophers. One of his tackles was for a loss, when he chased down scrambling QB Tommy Armstrong. 2. Gelen Robinson 13 6-1, 239, Fr. Strongside Linebacker 1. Jimmy Herman 29 6-4, 230, So. 33 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 2 PBU* Herman's play might have been overshadowed by his two linebacker partners – the duo combined for 23 tackles – but he had a good day as well, with five tackles and a tipped pass that led to an interception. Polk-Campbell, who plays only special teams, suffered an ankle injury Tuesday. 2. Dezwan Polk-Campbell 6 6-3, 212, R-Fr. Middle Linebacker 1. Ja'Whaun Bentley 35 6-2, 250, Fr. 58 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 1 int., 1 PBU, 2 FR* Bentley had one of his best games, at least statistically, with 11 tackles, including one that dropped Ameer Abdullah for a loss of five. It was on that play that it became appar- ent that Abdullah was hurt. Bentley also had a third-down QB hurry. He did it all playing with a broken left hand, suffered in the first quarter. 2. Garrett Hudson 16 6-3, 230, R-Fr. Weakside Linebacker 1. Danny Ezechukwu 36 6-2, 246, R-Fr. 31 tackles, 2.0 TFL, 0.5 sacks, 1 FF* Ezechukwu led the Boilermakers with 12 tackles, showing his growth as a more instinctual player, rather than one who is mechanically trying to follow through on his assignments. He's been a pleasant surprise since getting into the starting lineup. 2. Andy James Garcia 42 6-0, 217, So. Defensive End 1. Ryan Russell 99 6-5, 273, Sr. 32 tackles, 4 TFL, 2 sacks, 1 PBU* Russell had five tackles against the Cornhuskers, as he was active against the rush near the line of scrimmage. Purdue will need him to do the same against the Badgers' rushing attack Saturday. Panfil practiced some this week on the inside of the line with Howard banged up. He can still back up Russell, but John Strauser got more second-team snaps this week at end. 2. Evan Panfil 95 6-4, 251, So. Nose Tackle 1. Ra'Zahn Howard 14 6-3, 323, So. 17 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 sack, 1 PBU* Howard has put together solid back-to-back games, with seven of his 17 tackles this season against Minnesota and Nebraska. But, he didn't practice a lot heading into Wisconsin due to a mid-foot sprain. Instead, Watson was up with the first team. 2. Ryan Watson 92 6-2, 291, Jr. Defensive Tackle 1. Jake Replogle 54 6-5, 269, So. 26 tackles, 6 TFL, 2 sack, 1 PBU* Coach Darrell Hazell thinks Replogle might have played his best game as a Boilermaker, as he had seven tackles and a sack. On the QB takedown, he beat the right guard with a pretty spin move on his way into the backfield. 2. Ryan Watson 92 6-2, 291, Jr. DEFENSE VS Wisconsin Offense QB 2 Joel Stave 6-5, 220, Jr. OR 5 Tanner McEvoy 6-6, 222, Jr. RB 25 Melvin Gordon 6-1, 213, Jr. 6 Corey Clement 5-11, 217, So.
