GOLDANDBLACK EXPRESS • VOLUME 25, EXPRESS 10 • 16 Quarterback 1. Austin Appleby 12 6-5, 229, So. 82-of-152 passing, 871 yards, 7 TDs / 6 int.* 36 rushes, 187 yards, 5 TDs* Appleby's final numbers against the Huskers didn't look good, with only 18 completions on 46 attempts. But his receivers didn't help, with multiple drops and contested balls they couldn't haul in. For the passing offense to be better, all need to get in sync. 2. Danny Etling 5 6-2, 218, So. Wide Receiver 1. Trae Hart 5-10, 157, Fr. 1 rec., 12 yards* Hart could make his second start — he was in for the first play of the Illinois game too, but had only two more snaps that day — with hopes that he can help replace the big-play productivity of Anthrop. But he's inexperienced. 2. Myles Norwood 6 6-0, 172, R-Fr. Center 1. Robert Kugler 57 6-3, 298, Jr. Credit to Kugler for getting the Boilermakers in the right pro- tections, for the most part, in what is a hostile environment in Lincoln. Purdue gave up only two sacks of Appleby. 2. Cameron Cermin 66 6-5, 303, So. Right Guard 1. Jordan Roos 70 6-4, 312, So. One of the two sacks of Appleby came when Maliek Collins beat Roos one-on-one in the middle of the line. But otherwise, Roos seemed to have a good game. He was called for a hands-to-the-face penalty late, but it was a bad call. His hands were on the jersey. 2. Corey Clements 71 6-8, 400, Jr. Right Tackle 1. J.J. Prince 73 6-6, 302, So. Prince had an excellent block on Appleby's 25-yard touch- down run, when he sealed the right defensive end off and opened up a hole. He and Cermin are continuing to rotate at right tackle. Cermin missed Tuesday's practice and was lim- ited Wednesday but is expected to play. 2. Cameron Cermin 66 6-5, 303, So. Wide Receiver 1. Cameron Posey 18 6-1, 182, So.* 11 rec., 117 yards, 1 TD* Posey shifted from outside to inside this week, taking the place vacated by Anthrop's injury. Purdue is hoping he'll have success there, much like he did at the end of last season. Mikesky might get snaps; he hasn't this season after starting seven games last. 2. Shane Mikesky 87 6-4, 215, Jr. Wide Receiver 1. DeAngelo Yancey 7 6-2, 218, So. 10 rec., 114 yards, 3 TDs* Yancey was targeted seven times by Austin Appleby, yet couldn't come up with a reception. The Boilermakers need better, particularly now that big-play man Danny Anthrop is out. On the interception Appleby threw into the end zone, Yancey needed to fight for possession. 2. Gregory Phillips 13 6-0, 190, Fr. Tight End 1. Gabe Holmes 86 6-5, 258, Sr. 10 rec., 101 yards, 2 TDs* Holmes suffered a series of drops against the Cornhuskers and just has not turned into the kind of tight end that many had hoped. And he's nearly out of time. Sinz is more reliable. Many are calling for more Dolapo Macarthy now, but he seems destined for his limited role. 2. Justin Sinz 84 6-4, 249, Sr. (5) Left Tackle 1. David Hedelin 75 6-4, 295, Jr. Hedelin had a great day against Nebraska, largely hold- ing up — even one-on-one — against stud defensive end Randy Gregory. Considering he'd been better in run block- ing, it was a good development to see Hedelin succeed so well in pass protection. 2. Cameron Cermin 66 6-5, 303, So. Left Guard 1. Jason King 72 6-3, 309, So. Purdue continues to have suc- cess running the ball, going for 124 yards and nearly four yards per carry against a good Nebraska front. And a lot of credit goes to the interior of Purdue's line, King included. 2. Jason Tretter 76 6-6, 304, R-Fr. SPECIAL TEAMS OFFENSE VS Wisconsin Defense DE 34 Chikew Obasih 6-2, 268, R-Fr. 6 Alec James 6-3, 259, R-Fr. NG 91 Konrad Zagzebski 6-3, 277, Sr. (5) 95 Arthur Goldberg 6-3, 290, So. Akeem Hunt 1 5-9, 183, Sr. 125 rushes, 706 yards, 5 TDs* 36 rec., 198 yards* Hunt's total rushing yardage, 66 yards, probably isn't indicative of his effort. The senior has been running hard, and car- rying the offensive load for the Boilermakers; he had 28 touches vs. Nebraska, picking up 109 total yards. 2. Raheem Mostert 8 5-11, 190, Sr.
