Hawkeyes 51-14 on Saturday … Quarterback Mitch Leidner was very efficient passing, go- ing 10-of-13 for 138 yards and four touch- downs … Tight end Maxx Williams was the recipient of three Leidner touchdown tosses en route to his five-catch, 46-yard outing … The Golden Gophers ran for 291 yards as a team and forced three Hawkeye turnovers in the rout. OHIO STATE (8-1, 5-0) Ohio State now sits in the driver's seat in the Big Ten East Division after beating Michigan State 49-37 in East Lansing … Quarterback J.T. Barrett was outstanding for the Buckeyes, connecting on 16 of 26 passes for 300 yards and three touchdowns while adding another 86 yards on the ground and two more scores … The Buckeyes churned out 568 yards of offense. PENN STATE (5-4, 2-4) After losing its last four games, Penn Sate found a way to win, beating Indiana 13-7 in Bloomington … Running back Bill Belton scored on a 92-yard run, setting a re- cord for Penn State, en route to a 137-yard, one-touchdown performance … The only scores in the second half were 27- and 28- yard field goals by Penn State's Sam Ficken … The Nittany Lions held star running back Tevin Coleman under 100 yards for the first time in 10 games on their way to victory. PURDUE (3-7, 1-5) Purdue took one on the chin, losing 34-16 to Wisconsin … The Boilermakers struggled offensively, to- taling just 230 yards with only 26 of them on the ground … Purdue's defense did force two turnovers by Wisconsin, but the Boiler- makers didn't translate the takeaways into touchdowns … One positive in the game was kicker Paul Griggs, who went 3-for-3, making field goals from 40, 52 and 53 yards.
