It wasn't long before Westin quickly expanded into Grille Guards and Bull Bars as pickups surged in popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The company spent the next two decades operating in Irwindale, California and St. James Minnesota, where it maintained separate facilities for manufacturing, engineering, R&D, warehousing, and corporate functions. In October 2012, Westin consolidated into a new headquarters in San Dimas, CA. This move brought management, engineering, customer service, and marketing, under one roof while St. James remained for manufacturing and distribution. This was a major milestone in streamlining operations and enabling future growth. Westin expanded again in 2016, with the opening of a new manufacturing and distribution facility in Ft. Worth Texas. Westin prides itself on U.S. based design, engineering, testing, distribution and manufacturing, strongly reinforcing the quality and domestic origin of its products. Westin holds several military contracts and is DEFARS compliant. WESTIN PUBLIC SAFETY DIVISION Launched in 2013, Westin Public Safety leverages Westin's engineering expertise to serve law enforcement agencies with vehicle specific, mission critical equipment developed in San Dimas. The Westin Public Safety division markets primarily to public law enforcement agency fleets, distributors, and upfitters. In 2019 Westin Public Safety acquired HINT Mounts Inc., a manufacturer of Console and Computer Mounting solutions for law enforcement and public safety vehicles and moved manufacturing and distribution into the Ft. Worth, Texas facility. In 2025, our latest expansion Westin Raptor Gun Mounts was introduced to provide state-of-the-art gun mounting systems that are safer and more accessible than anything else on the market. SUPERWINCH In April 2019, Westin acquired the Superwinch brand, a well-established name in electric and hydraulic winches, accessories, and recovery gear. Superwinch has served offroad, agricultural, industrial, public safety, and military users for over 45 years.
