WOMEN'S BASKETBALL make their mark? Duffy: "The most important thing I wanted to do coming in was to get to know the players. I want to know how they think and find out what they are working on. I try to address some things that maybe they haven't thought about in the past from a players' standpoint. "Like anything else, with any kind of relationship it takes some time to build that with players. I've really tried to spend a lot of time on those things. Once we get playing and on the court, it'll be easier to be a mentor for them. But forming those relationships has been something I really focused on since day one." The Wolverine: You are an Ohio native and you played for Notre Dame and now wear Maize and Blue. How did that happen? Duffy: "I get it on both ends being a Notre Dame grad and being from Ohio. I learned fairly quickly that green and red are no longer in the wardrobe, which is good. "A lot of the foundations of winning at Notre Dame and the expectations and the pressure are similar at Michigan. Being a player there I can relate that to what our players are going through here. The pressure of being a coach here is obvi‑ ously evident. There are a lot of laughs and jokes from people here at Michigan and my family and friends back home or from college." — Brandon Brown 1-800-421-7751 • www.TheWolverineOnDemand.com Michigan gOLF giFt ideas VISIT OUR ONLINE STORE! for
