GOLDANDBLACK EXPRESS • VOLUME 25, EXPRESS 11 • 21 BY KYLE CHARTERS KCharters@GoldandBlack.com P urdue's likely to start two fresh- men receivers against the Wild- cats on Saturday, but if John Shoop is concerned, he's not showing it. For Trae Hart, it will be the third start of his rookie campaign; for Gregory Phillips, it'll be start No. 1. The duo are being pressed into larger duties for a couple reasons: Purdue is without Danny Anthrop (knee) and B.J. Knauf (shoulder), and it has seen former starter DeAn- gelo Yancey be benched due to in- effectiveness. "We're actually kind of excited that Trae and Greg are going to play a fair amount," Shoop said Tues- day afternoon, a few days before Purdue hosts Northwestern. "Trae is a guy who is tough to press. And Danny and B.J. are guys who are tough to press, as well, but they ain't here. So that'll help us at that posi- tion. (Hart), he'll be a tough guy to get up and do that to. And Greg is a strong, strong, high-effort guy as well. He and DeAngelo (Yancey) will work at the other spot. We're going to do many of the same things. In fact, I'm kind of excited when I look out there and see those guys make a play. They're real excited about the possibilities as well." But experience is limited. Hart has started at Illinois, but played only two more snaps after laying the ball on the turf, after he was ruled down, and again vs. Wiscon- sin. He has three catches this season for 51 yards, including a 31-yarder vs. the Badgers. Phillips, meanwhile, got a majority of the snaps against Wisconsin following Yancey's first- half drop. The rookie was Purdue's most-targeted wideout, finishing with a couple receptions. He has five for 71 yards this year. "We don't look at it as 'Oh nuts, our starting Z is down. Our backup Z is down,'" Shoop said, specifically ref - erencing Anthrop's and Knauf's po- sition. "We look at it as 'Man, what a great opportunity.
