His scor- ing performance was the most by a Boilermaker freshman in his first two college games since Russell Cross in 1980-81. Coach Matt Painter and Samford coach Scott Padgett show off their leis prior to the season opener. Both teams are part of the Maui Invitational, with the Boilermakers making their trip to the Hawaii island on Saturday. Games start Monday. Nov. 14: Purdue 80, Samford 40 Nov. 16: Purdue 77, IUPUI 57 Mackey Arena Isaac Haas greets mom Rachel and younger sister Erin after the win over Samford. Haas made an impact in both games, averaging 8.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 15 min- utes of action.
