MICHIGAN STATE (9-2, 6-1) The Spartans pounded Rutgers 45-3 in East Lansing … Running back Jeremy Langford rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns. stretching his streak of 100-yard games against conference opponents to 15, the longest in the FBS in the last 18 years … Wide receiver Tony Lippett had five catches for 72 yards and his 10th touch- down of the season, and also played well at cornerback on the day … Quarterback Connor Cook led the Spartans to points on five of their first six drives and finished with 254 passing yards and two touchdowns … Michigan State led 35-0 at halftime. MINNESOTA (8-3, 5-2) Minnesota rallied to get past Nebraska, 28-24, winning in Lin- coln for the first time since 1960 … Quarterback Mitch Leidner was ordinary through the air, going 8-of-17 for 135 yards, but led the team in rushing with 111 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries … Running back David Cobb added 80 yards and a touchdown of his own on the ground, but was injured for most of the second half … The Gophers were down by double digits in the third quarter, but Leidner led Minnesota on two long scoring drives to give it the lead … The win ended a 20-game road losing streak against top-25 opponents dating back to 2000 … It also gives Minnesota its best Big Ten record since 2003 … Minnesota can now win the West Division with a victory over Wisconsin next weekend. NEBRASKA (8-3, 4-3) Nebraska lost 28-24 to Min- nesota, giving the Cornhuskers back-to-back conference losses for the first time since 2009 and eliminating them from the West Division race … The Huskers were hit hard by injuries early in the game, losing cen- ter Mark Pelini and wide receiver Kenny Bell for the game and defensive end Randy Greg- ory for a couple of early series … Nebraska had previously been 35-1 under Bo Pelini with a 10-or-more-points halftime lead. NORTHWESTERN (5-6, 3-4) Northwestern went into West Lafayette and beat Purdue 38-14 … Quarterback Trevor Siemian was lost in the second quarter with a knee injury, but turnovers and special teams play powered the Wildcats to victory … Northwest- ern's defense forced five turnovers, includ- ing an interception and fumble recovery by linebacker Jimmy Hall, and on special teams Tony Jones returned a punt 64 yards for a touchdown … Freshman running back Justin Jackson also did his part, totaling 147 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries. OHIO STATE (10-1, 7-0) Ohio State topped Indiana 42- 27 and clinched the Big Ten East Division title in the process … Wide receiver Jalin Marshall was the star of the day, returning a punt 54 yards for a go-ahead score in the third quarter and then adding three more receiving touchdowns of six, 15 and 54 yards — all in the fourth quarter … Quarterback J.T. Barrett was 25-of-35 passing for 302 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions. PENN STATE (6-5, 2-5) Penn State lost a 16-14 heart- breaker in Champaign against the Illini, giving up the lead with just eight sec- onds left on a 36-yard field goal … Quarterback Christian Hackenberg continues to struggle
