PURDUE (3-8, 1-6) The Boilermakers hold the edge in the all-time series against Northwestern, 50-28-1, but their lead shrunk by one on Saturday … Purdue turned the ball over five times, resulting in a 38-14 loss … Quarterback Austin Appleby threw the ball 48 times, connecting on 26 attempts for 251 yards and two scores, but also threw two picks … The defeat extends Purdue's losing streak to five.
