GOLDANDBLACK EXPRESS • VOLUME 25, EXPRESS 12 • 15 Cornerback 1. Anthony Brown 9 5-11, 192, Jr. 49 tackles, 5.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 9 PBU* Brown's biggest play – or big- gest misplay – came on special teams, when he failed to wrap up Tony Jones on the Wildcat's 64-yard punt return for a touchdown. Brown had Jones stopped, only to see him wrestle free. 2. Antoine Lewis 23 5-10, 185, Sr. (5) Strong Safety 1. Landon Feichter 44 6-0, 192, Sr. (5) 96 tackles, 1 TFL, 5 int., 3 PBU, 1 FR, 1 FF* Feichter didn't have the game- changing plays of the last couple weeks, but still turned in a solid effort, with a team-high nine tackles and a pass breakup. 2. Robert Gregory 7 6-1, 216, So. Free Safety 1. Taylor Richards 4 5-10, 196, Sr. 45 tackles, 1 TFL, 4 PBU* Richards looked a bit out of sorts at times as he approached the line to take on the run, either being in the wrong gap or having himself blocked too far away from the play. Still, he came up with seven tackles and broke up a pass. 2. Robert Gregory 7 6-1, 216, So. Cornerback 1. Frankie Williams 24 5-9, 189, Jr. 66 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 1 sack, 3 int., 7 PBU, 1 FR* Williams was back at corner- back for Northwestern, and he'll start there for the Hoosiers, also. But look for Purdue to go to more five DB packages at times, and if it does, that means Clark gets on the field. 2. Leroy Clark 3 5-10, 187, So. Rush End 1. Jalani Phillips 89 6-4, 265, Sr. 31 tackles, 5.5 TFL, 1 sack, 1 PBU, 1 FR* Phillips had one of his more active games of the second half of the season, with four tackles, including a couple for loss. One of Phillips' TFLs came on the first play of a drive that NU was eventually forced to punt. 2. Gelen Robinson 13 6-1, 239, Fr. Strongside Linebacker 1. Jimmy Herman 29 6-4, 230, So. 48 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 3 PBU* With Purdue playing its base defense for the entire game, Herman was forced into cover- age more often than had been the usual. He had moments of success and those that were challenges, too. The latter includes the Wildcats' fourth-and-14 conversion near the red zone in the first half. 2. Dezwan Polk-Campbell 6 6-3, 212, R-Fr. Middle Linebacker 1. Ja'Whaun Bentley 35 6-2, 250, Fr. 65 tackles, 3.5 TFL, 1 int., 1 PBU, 3 FR* Bentley was there when Danny Ezechukwu forced a fumble, picking it up to give the defense one of its two turnovers. He also chipped in with three tackles, two of them right at the line of scrimmage. 2. Garrett Hudson 16 6-3, 230, R-Fr. Weakside Linebacker 1. Danny Ezechukwu 36 6-2, 246, R-Fr. 40 tackles, 3.0 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 1 int., 2 FF* Ezechukwu had the best game of his young career, with seven tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and an inter- ception. He ended NU's first two non-scoring drives with a pick and a pass breakup. Then, had a sack later in the first half. He also ended a drive by forcing a fumble. 2. Andy James Garcia 42 6-0, 217, So. Defensive End 1. Ryan Russell 99 6-5, 273, Sr. 38 tackles, 4 TFL, 2 sacks, 1 PBU* Russell likely has played better than his statistics indicate this season, and that was certainly the case on Saturday. He had four tackles, mostly chasing down running backs. He influenced other plays with his pursuit, as well. But he also picked up a facemask penalty. 2. Evan Panfil 95 6-4, 251, So. Nose Tackle 1. Ra'Zahn Howard 14 6-3, 323, So. 19 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 sack, 1 PBU* Howard's missed some practice time this sea- son due to a lingering back injury, but that's not kept him from missing Saturdays (the Wisconsin game, due to a foot sprain, aside). And vs. Northwestern, he played a season-high 70 (unofficially) snaps, a good sign for his conditioning. 2. Ryan Watson 92 6-2, 291, Jr. Defensive Tackle 1. Jake Replogle 54 6-5, 269, So. 34 tackles, 8.5 TFL, 2 sacks, 1 PBU* Replogle again turned in what appeared to be a solid effort, with five tackles, including one for loss. On NU's second-to-last drive, he hit a run- ning back behind the line of scrimmage. 2. Ryan Watson 92 6-2, 291, Jr. DEFENSE VS Indiana Offense LT 78 Jason Spriggs 6-7, 300, Jr. 77 Dimitric Camiel 6-7, 308, So.
