GOLDANDBLACK EXPRESS • VOLUME 25, EXPRESS 12 • 16 Quarterback 1. Austin Appleby 12 6-5, 229, So. 125-of-237 passing, 1,326 yds, 10 TDs / 8 int.* 55 rushes, 168 yards, 5 TDs* For the first time since he became Purdue's starter, Appleby looked a bit uncomfortable in the pocket, perceiving pressure when there was little and throwing more inaccurately than weeks past. Of course, he's not being helped much, either. 2. Danny Etling 5 6-2, 218, So. Wide Receiver 1. Trae Hart 5-10, 157, Fr. 6 rec., 68 yards* Hart's not the big- gest or strongest guy, but he has a knack for beating press coverage off the line, likely due to his quickness. That makes him valuable. Against NU, he had three catches for 17 yards. 2. Myles Norwood 6 6-0, 172, R-Fr. Center 1. Robert Kugler 57 6-3, 298, Jr. Purdue's protection was better vs. Northwestern than a couple weeks earlier, a credit to Kugler for getting the Boilermakers set correctly before the snap. 2. Cameron Cermin 66 6-5, 303, So. Right Guard 1. Jordan Roos 70 6-4, 312, So. Roos might be the surprise of the line this season, because he's started from Day 1 and barely ever comes off the field. And being an underclassman now, he has even better days ahead. 2. Corey Clements 71 6-8, 400, Jr. Right Tackle 1. J.J. Prince 73 6-6, 302, So. Purdue is having to piece it together a bit at right tackle, because both Prince and Cermin are beat up. Prince has a couple shoulder injuries that'll likely need offseason surgery, and Cermin has a groin injury. Little wonder then that Purdue hasn't been as clean as it would like on the right side. 2. Cameron Cermin 66 6-5, 303, So. Wide Receiver 1. Cameron Posey 18 6-1, 182, So.* 15 rec., 163 yards, 1 TD* Purdue went with Macarthy and Posey in the slot vs. Northwestern, and their totals were good: Six receptions for 69 yards. Posey had one of the passing game's better plays, when he found a hole in the zone and hauled in a 24-yard pass up the left sideline. 2. Shane Mikesky 87 6-4, 215, Jr. Wide Receiver 1. Gregory Phillips 13 6-0, 190, Fr. 9 rec., 140 yards* Phillips got his first career start and came through with his best game, catching four balls for 69 yards, including a 27-yarder that was Purdue's long. He's still raw, but has upside. Yancey, a backup for the first time this year, had 33 yards on two receptions. 2. DeAngelo Yancey 7 6-2, 218, So. Tight End 1. Gabe Holmes 86 6-5, 258, Sr. 15 rec., 143 yards, 2 TDs* Holmes has played better – at least, more impactful in the passing game – of late, with three receptions Saturday for 20 yards. Sinz caught Purdue's second touchdown, and Dolapo Macarthy, playing in the slot, had three receptions for 31 yards. 2. Justin Sinz 84 6-4, 249, Sr. (5) Left Tackle 1. David Hedelin 75 6-4, 295, Jr. Hedelin continues to struggle with speed pass rushers, not getting his feet back quickly enough to consistently keep them off the quarterback. And against Northwestern, he twice committed false start penalties. 2. Cameron Cermin 66 6-5, 303, So. Left Guard 1. Jason King 72 6-3, 309, So. Purdue has not gotten the creases up the middle that it had experienced in the first half of the season, but will look to do so against the Hoosiers. King's had a pretty good year, and is only a sophomore. 2. Jason Tretter 76 6-6, 304, R-Fr. SPECIAL TEAMS OFFENSE VS Indiana Defense DT 99 Adarius Rayner 6-2, 307, Jr. OR 98 Darius Latham 6-5, 318, So. NT 74 Nate Hoff 6-2, 305, R-Fr. OR 93 Ralph Green III 6-5, 307, So. Akeem Hunt 1 5-9, 183, Sr. 154 rushes, 778 yards, 5 TDs* 45 rec., 288 yards, 2 TDs* Hunt had a rough day, fumbling twice – once on a rush and once after a reception – plus missing a block on the play that Appleby was sacked and fumbled. He'll need a bounce back at Indiana. 2. Raheem Mostert 8 5-11, 190, Sr.
