offense (3,507 yards), as well as longest run by a passer (86 yards) and rushing yards in a game by a quarterback (189). There have still been hiccups — Barrett threw for 74 yards and one touchdown against two picks in a 31-24 double-overtime win at Penn State — but he has been very good since game three. The field general threw for three scores and four picks in the first two games, but has completed 67.9 percent of his attempts since for 2,213 yards with 30 touchdowns and six interceptions. Even an offensive guru like Meyer admitted that Barrett's numbers, after the slow start, caught him a little off guard at first. "I'm not as fazed anymore as I was early in the season because I didn't really understand J.T. or know him," the coach said. "He was in the program, but is a very quiet guy who was down the line on the depth chart. His preparation, seriousness and leadership skills are outstanding, so the success doesn't surprise me." Meanwhile, Elliott rushed for a touchdown in the first two games, but totaled just 76 yards on the ground in those contests. The What: Michigan at Ohio State When: Nov. 29 • 12 p.m. ET Radio-TV: ABC will televise the game nationally. The game can be heard on the Michigan Sports Network (950 AM in the Detroit area, as well as the Armed Services Radio, Sirius channel 132 and XM channel 202) with former U-M team- mates Dan Dierdorf and Jim Brandstat- ter, and sideline reporter Doug Karsch. Coaches: Michigan: Brady Hoke (31-19, fourth season). Ohio State: Urban Meyer (34-3, third season). History: U-M leads the all-time series 58-45-6, but the Buckeyes won 42-41 last year in Ann Arbor. Ohio State Notes: Although the Buck- eyes lost 35-21 to 5-6 Virginia Tech at home Sept. 6, they have tallied at least 42 points in all five home games since, and their average margin of victory is 13.7 points more in Columbus than on the road … Ohio State has won a Big Ten-re- cord 23 straight regular-season confer- ence contests … OSU has not lost a regu- lar-season tilt against a league foe under Meyer, and a win versus U-M would make it the first Big Ten team to go undefeated in conference play for three straight reg- ular seasons since Minnesota did it from 1933-35 … The Buckeyes would the first to be undefeated and untied for three straight campaigns … OSU has won 10 of the last 12 against Michigan, includ- ing both previous matchups between the current coaches … The Buckeyes' last regular-season conference loss was to Michigan on Nov. 26, 2011 — Hoke's debut in the rivalry.
