Even after adding Turner and Henley this weekend to go along with prior defensive end-type commitments Tim Faison and Twazanga Mugala, Purdue is still in the market for defensive line help, as well as more help in the secondary. Running back and safety are emphases, but newly committed Georgia athlete Evyn Cooper, one of the higher-profile additions to the class, projects for one or the other. Purdue will likely pursue an - other offensive lineman or two as well to go along with previously committed Matt McCann and Pey- ton Truitt. This is a class that will need to make some kind of instant impact in West Lafayette due to urgent needs at positions like tight end, running back, linebacker and on the defensive line. It will be another instance in which Purdue will be hoping to defy outside opinion, as it's a class seemingly heavy on overlooked or under-recruited players Purdue's coaches have become sold on dur- ing their recruiting travels in the late fall and early winter. j Starting 'Em Young In Coach Matt Painter's decade-long tenure at Purdue, he has started at least one freshman in 71 percent of his games. In fact, dating back to the start of the 2012-13 campaign, there has been a freshman in the Boilermaker lineup at tipoff in 74-of-76 games. This week, Painter had three in the starting lineup on Monday with Isaac Haas, P.J. Thompson and Vince Edwards and three again Wednesday after a tweak, adding Dakota Mathias to Edwards and Haas.
