TRACK OF THE MONTH TV BABY - NEW YORK IS ALRIGHT The blinder by TV Baby - New York Is Alright is right up there with my tracks of the year never mind track of the month! New York Producer, studio boss and University professor Phil Moffa has been continually rising to the forefront of electronic music throughout his diverse 15 year career, producing both electronic music and dub reggae bands. His 2014 releases Solar Lottery EP in October on Plan B Records and Elevation on Most Unltd in July both received wide-spread critical acclaim. Moffa is kicking off his 2015 release schedule with plans in the pipeline for a collaboration release with Seth Troxler on Hypercolour Music. The EP named Rogue Music will be out on 26th January 2015. NYC hardware-based house producer rises from the underground The presitigious German techno line up take over London ONE TO WATCH PHIL MOFFA PHIL MOFFA EVENT REVIEW 1 HAPPINESS WAS HAPPENING: GERD JANSON, RO- MAN FLÜGEL AND KASSEM MOSSE LIVE AT OVAL SPACE MUSIC Saturday 29th November saw the fourth and final chapter of Oval Space's epic in-house series. First up was Gerd Janson taking the approach of easing-in rather than confronting, patiently crafting a slow burning, groove heavy analogue house and disco introduction for the arriving crowds. Having built a chameleon like identity within the techno scene over his two-decade career, Roman Flügel's set certainly lived up to this expectation. Kassem Mosse performed a live set, sculpting and modulating drum sounds, bleeps and bass lines on the fly resulting in an intense and spacious minimal techno set full of excitement and spontaneity. A heavy duty remix of the infectious tune by Ellum Audio boss and dance music genius Maceo Plex (Maetrik) takes this one on a trip around the dark corners of house, making big rooms move whilst holding down a steady bassline and new wave style vocals about the city of New York! With practically nothing behind them so far TV Baby have gathered a sizeable amount of support from this release and we're holding out for more beats like this to come I the future! 20 Issue 70 / 2014 HOUSE/ TECHNO guestlist.net Nuits Sonores Floating Points Bummse Max Graef All The Things Traumprinz Glock and Roll Kowton It's All Over (John Talabot's Stripped Refix) Pional Percussions KHLHI Beezledub Paleman Butterflies Leon Vynehall Workshop 19 Kassem Mosse After Forever Joey Anderson Pushing On Oliver $ & Jimi Jules The Heat (Joy Orbison Remix) Jungle 12 CHERRY PICKS OF 2014 More @ guestlist.net/house
