46 SNOWEST JANUARY 2015 Two Favorite Covers Of The '10s We haven't counted how many magazine covers Snowmobile West and SnoWest have had over the past 40 years but it's probably close to 175. There's no way we could pick just one favorite cover over the past 40 years. We're guessing that none of us would agree with just one or with each other. So to minimize the bickering, we narrowed our field of choice down to the covers in this decade—the 2010s. That's 4.5 years of covers. Still we couldn't pick just one so we went with two covers. Both are from 2013, but different publishing seasons. The one cover features the SnoWest project sled, Project X, from that season and while the sled is cool, it's the overall picture of the sled in deep powder coming over a rise with mountains in the background that really stands out to us. The other cover, also a Ski-Doo, comes from a Ski-Doo photo shoot in Canada. If you could strip away the masthead and all the text on the cover and just see the photo without anything else on it, the photo would be even more dramatic than it is. The sled (and rider) is more than just sideways, but slightly tilted to the downhill side as it flies through the air.
